Done and Dusted Again

Alternative folk music from Dave Stannard and the Box of Frogs
  • .: Welcome... :.

Mr Dave plays the acoustic guitar and sings, he is accompanied by Mr Chris Found, who sits on a box and whacks it, and Mr Darren Butler who is an bassistist.
They play energetic "rock-folk" with quirky, wryly amusing lyrics and punchy, dynamic guitar.
While they sing and play, Dave dances around a lot and is good fun to watch (ie, a twit). He calls this "a performance"; most people agree.
  • Gigs: Chelmsford: 3rd, Cold Norton: 5th and Maldon: 6th

Thanks to everyone who turned up to see us play Fleecefest on Sunday, and to Ivan who managed to get there when we’d just finished :-)

Got some more dates this week before we take a break:

Thu 3rd June - Golden Fleece, Duke St, Chelmsford
Sat 5th June - The Norton, Latchingdon Road, Cold Norton
Sun 6th June - The Rose and Crown, High Street, Maldon

They’re all free and, as far as I know, we’ll be on after 9.00pm

I’ve also been putting up a load of studio recordings on the reverbnation site:

and I’ve added a site for the band’s live recordings:

(Yup we’re called Box-o-Frogs now.  Let’s see if that one fits)

    Cheers

    Fleecefest, Chelmsford 26th & 30th May

Posted By Dave on May 4, 2010

Greetings, and May the Fourth be with you,

This month I shall be flying my X-wing over to Chelmsford cos we will be playing 2 gigs at the fabulous Golden Fleece - this is for their Fleecefest, days and days of stonking live music; and us.

And there will also be a quick low-level bombing run on the Belvedere in Billericay - I’m the Acoustic opener, whatever that means :-)

Wed 26th May - Golden Fleece, Duke Street, Chelmsford
Fri 28th May - The Belvedere, Hardings Elms Road, Billericay (for PaulsGig.com)
Sun 30th May - Golden Fleece, Duke Street, Chelmsford

It’s worth mentioning that the Belvedere is child-friendly, so long as you keep a leash on the little scamps.  The Fleece is most certainly not, however.  They eat kids in there, keep away.

    Cheers
    Dave
